We practice the Gonstead chiropractic approach as we find it very specific,
biomechanically sound and effective.
As a Gonstead Chiropractor, we conduct a thorough examination analysis
using a systematic approach.
History
We will take a thorough history of your presenting complaint and include your overall health and medical history. This will assist in determining f you are likely to benefit from Chiropractic care.
Visualisation
Visualisation and assessment of your posture and balance within the body provides useful information.
Instrumentation
In the Gonstead System we utilise a “skin temperature differential instrument (colloquially referred to as a “Nervoscope”). This detects subtle variances in skin temperature related to localised blood flow. Another useful tool in the analysis.
Static Palpation
Palpation for the presence of swelling (or oedema), tenderness and changes in texture or tightness in the muscles and other tissues.
Motion Palpation
Palpation of the spine and other tissues to discern abnormal movement patterns.
X-Ray Analysis
When clinically indicated, digital radiographs (X-Ray images) may be useful to help exclude underlying skeletal pathology or fractures and assess degenerative changes. They may provide useful biomechanical information regarding spinal imbalance and adaptive or compensatory mechanisms within the spine and other skeletal structures. This can help with more specific, gentle, and accurate adjustments (manual care).
